Teen and pre-teen students get together once a month  for a learning experience only fostered here at El Camino. Students will focus half of the session on general horse care,  basic first aid, and equine anatomy education. Career information and a behind the scene peek into equine world is provided for the TEEN RIDERS (ages 13 and up), while the PRE-TEEN RIDERS (ages 10-13) polish their ability to tack and groom proficiently and meet advanced beginner guidelines. The other half of the session, the students saddle up and perform drill team activities and games on horseback. Students must also be enrolled in private riding lessons to qualify for this program.

El Camino Ranch offers a Pony Pals class for children 3 years and older. It is never to early to set the foundation for a lifelong devotion to horses. Although riding the horse may be a few years away, this program gives the student an opportunity to learn patience, responsibility and self confidence. Our instructors keep a watchful eye on the students at all times to promote a safe environment where learning can begin. The fee includes a thirty minute class where the children will learn to groom and care for the Miniature horses and the ponies. If time permits a tour of the ranch to explore all the animals may be given. A child at this age can have so much fun interacting with the animals, and they learn early on to be comfortable around horses.
