REC Meetings
Riders of El Camino (REC) Club is open to all of our ECR Students, Clients, and Families. This is a free service provided by El Camino to promote camaraderie among our ECR family. The REC club meets periodically depending on students interest. Meetings are Pot Luck optional with water and punch provided. The meetings will include games, seminars on general horsemanship, horse related video’s, and occasionally a guest speaker. We hope this will encourage friendships, and give our students an opportunity to learn fun things about horses and each other. We hope to see you there!
Quarterly Clinics
El Camino will host a Show Ring Ready clinic as the show season approaches to prepare our show team for what to expect at the show as an exhibitor, parent, or spectator. Clinic prices vary depending on the included activities. All clinics are horse interactive but not all include riding. Some clinics are done on horseback and may be done with your own horse or an El Camino horse (the price is the same). We also host quarterly clinics that may include the following topics…
Tack Check and Fit: proper barn attire, how to properly fit tack to a horse, tack care and management, how to do a safety check
Basic First Aid: common horse illnesses, poisonous plants, and topical wounds and treatment
Wrap and Lunge: learn how to properly use leg wraps and effectively lunge a horse safely and calmly
Hunt Seat Equitation: Pattern work, and proper equitation for better balance and communication
