Breeding at El Camino Ranch
EC Also Stands for Excellence
The success of our ranch may be directly attributed to the success of our breeding program. Our breeding program sets the foundation for the future of every EC foal. The life of every EC horse begins well before they are ever born, beginning by pairing each mare up with the most eligible stallion. Although a few select mares are designated for Dream Quest every year, not all of our broodmares are exclusively his. Excellent bloodlines, sturdy conformation, and an impressive show record go along way when catching the eye of one of our mares here at El Camino Ranch.
El Camino Ranch has a modern breeding lab where we collect, pack, and ship stallion semen going to our customers around the country and over seas. Our breeding manager, Scott Reeves, is certified by Colorado University Advanced Equine Reproduction Department. Pre-marital care is available for expecting mares. Mare and foal care at the ranch is also available. We have frozen semen for our stallion and for two previous sires.
We have two local veterinarians who assist us in embryo transfer; and in management of mares being bred to outside stallions. We welcome your visit to El Camino Ranch and our breeding facility. If you have any questions about artificial insemination, cooled and frozen semen transport, foaling, or mare care, you may call Scott (909.557.3291) to discuss your breeding plans. We stand one Arabian stallion, the *Ali Jamaal son, Dream Quest, a U.S. Nationals Top Ten Stallion. Special arrangements can be made on a case by case bases. We are happy to help you prepare for your mare’s breeding.
