SAD NEWS

On Monday, 12-17-07, Bill Locklin, LaVesta's husband, and step Dad of Scott Reeves, Lesli Woolley (and husband, Craig), Stan and Kristin Reeves; and granddaughter, Vandi Reeves, whom Bill and LaVesta raised, passed away after a one year struggle with Cancer. His Memorial Service will be held on 12-27-07 at 1:00 PM at The Packing House Church, corner of Alabama and San Bernardino Avenue, Redlands, CA. Bill's other business, Nightscaping, has a section of tributes to Bill. Go to: www.nightscaping.com and click on "Bill's Blogs, to find those. For information call the ranch office: 909-794-1086.  Two charities are set up to accept donations in memory of Bill Locklin:  Redlands Cold Weather Shelter for the homeless, and MCCA(Mexican Christian Childrens Aid, which operates out of a building on the grounds of Nightscaping, donated for their use by Bill), and information on both can be obtained from the office at Nightscaping, 1705 E. Colton Avenue, Redlands, CA, 92374. 

Four hundred fifty people attended Bill's Memorial Service and a Reception following at the home in Redlands.  He will be missed by many, including all of his employees (150) at his lighting manufacturing business in Redlands, Nightscaping; as well as 23 employees at El Camino Ranch.  The home and both businesses are in a Trust set up by Bill and LaVesta, and will continue on. 

2008 SHOWS:
The show team went to Whittier Lions show in Pomona in January.
The show team also went to Scottsdale, Arizona, All Arabian Show in February.  EC World of Musiq was Top Ten in her Country English Pleasure class.

2007 SHOWS:
AmateurRiders:                                                                                                                                                                                         
The Amateur Students who train with Vandi Reeves have attended two shows at the Chino McCoy Equestrian Center in Chino, CA. during March and April.  In March Marie Page won a First place ribbon on her tall bay gelding, Five Alarm Chili.  Hana Valenzuela won a First place in her Country English class on her mare, EC Dreamadazzle.  Also Cameron Puett won two second place ribbons on KA Cherry. 

At the April Chino show Cameron and Cherry took top honors with two Blue First Place Ribbons.  See the article from the Redlands Facts Sports Page right after the show, reprinted under Training, Amateur Riders in this website.  Jane Schommer showed her Hunter Pleasure Half Arabian, EC Mazarati, for his first show with her.   The Amateur Riders plan to show again in June.

Sierra Empire Show:

In April, Bill Deeney, El Camino Ranch Performance Trainer, took 3 El Camino horses and 2 students to the Sierra Empire Show in Pomona.  Juan Irigoyen, Halter Trainer, took one student and her halter gelding.  The results:

The NSH classes were a part of the NSH District VII Championships held this year at Sierra Empire Show.

La Habra Arabian Show

The Amateur Barn with Vandi Reeves, Trainer, attended three shows this year, 2007, and enjoyed the showgrounds very much.  Six students have participated and have brought home lots of blues and some red ribbons.  The energetic parents are enthusiastic about this particular show, so we will be attending here again.
